Sustaining Digital Legacies: What Does It Take?
Victoria McCargar
Even as digital technologies have provided us with astonishing avenues
for access, they are also setting up a preservation challenge that may
eventually dwarf projects and programs in the analog world. Fortunately, developments like OAIS (open archive information systems) PREMIS (preservation metadata) and TRAC (trusted repository audit and certification) can provide even small libraries and archives with valuable strategies for tackling the sustainability of their digital collections.

3 Solo Projects: Lynn Aldrich, Jessica Rath, Carrie Ungerman
Second in a series of exhibitions highlighting the work of Southern
California artists. Aldrich, Rath, and Ungerman have each created new
site-specific installations using common materials in quantity: dozens
of metal and plastic rain gutters, gallons of liquid latex, and
thousands of plastic water bottles to make tactile and poignant
experiences that are poetic metaphors of abundance, scarcity, and
growth.
