The ARLIS/NA SoCal executive team invites you to come together and hold space for this pivotal moment in 2020. During this virtual meeting, we wish to provide the opportunity to connect, share experiences, and brainstorm with colleagues and friends about how we can affect change in our profession and workplaces, and learn from one another.
Rather than predetermining a topic of conversation, we are leaving the forum open and TBD—who knows what the next few weeks will bring, after all!
Some of the topics we have been interested in include:
- How do we implement change within ourselves and our profession?
- Job precarity before, during, and after Covid-19.
- Institutional responses to the Black Lives Matter movement and racial inequality within the art and library world.
No part of the session will be recorded. We will use break-out rooms to facilitate small group conversations depending on attendance. We intend this program to be a low-pressure, respectful, and supportive way to connect with one another during this time.
