The executive team of ARLIS/NA Southern California would like to provide a follow-up part ll to our initial July program: TBD – A Summer Conversation. We had 16 attendees (and missed a few of you due to a listserv glitch!) and would love to see and hear from you before summer dissipates!

During this follow-up program, we wish to provide the opportunity to again connect, share experiences, and brainstorm with colleagues and friends about how we can affect change in our profession and workplaces, and learn from one another moving forward.

The last time we met, we provided questions to consider as a way to begin/guide a conversation. This time, we will create separate breakout rooms for each topic of discussion, so that participants can choose their conversation.
Some of the topics we are brainstorming include:

  • Pandemic Plight (GLAMs & reopening during COVID-19)
  • Anti-Racism & Our Institutions (critical and anti-racist pedagogy, hiring & retention, performative vs genuine allyship, programming ideas, etc.)
  • Job precarity (early career professionals in our current climate, contract work, etc.)

WHEN:
Pour your beverage of choice and join us on Wednesday, August 19, at 4pm-5:15 PST! (Cat/dog/family cameos always welcome!)

:
RSVP HERE and let us know if there is a topic or question you’d like the group to address.  Zoom links will be shared directly to the RSVP list of emails this time!

No part of the session will be recorded. We intend this program to be a low-pressure, respectful, and supportive way to connect with one another during this time.
